Refined Power and Off-Road Capability.

The 2025 Ford Ranger continues to build on the redesign introduced for 2024, with only a few minor updates. This mid-size pickup is still available only as a crew cab with a five-foot bed and offers two engine options: the standard 270-horsepower turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder and a more powerful 315-horsepower twin-turbo V6. Both engines come paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and offer either rear- or four-wheel drive. For those seeking serious off-road performance, the high-performance Ranger Raptor is available.

The Ranger's exterior design is closely inspired by the full-size F-150, and its interior can range from simple to upscale. The Lariat trim offers premium leather, tech features, and entertainment options. The Ranger is better than ever. See it today at McLarty Daniel Ford in Bentonville, AR!

What's New in 2025

The 2025 Ford Ranger has minor updates, including new paint colors. Cactus Gray, Iconic Silver, and Hot Pepper Red are out, making way for the fresh Ruby Red Metallic, Desert Sand, and Marsh Gray shades. Plus, a new Black Appearance package is now available for an added touch of style.

Engines and Performance

Starting at $34,575, the base Ranger has a turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 270 horsepower, giving the mid-size truck plenty of pep for most driving needs. For a little more power, higher trims offer a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine with 315 horsepower. Both engines are paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and can be configured with either rear or four-wheel drive. If you're after stronger acceleration, the optional V6 is a great choice and worth upgrading.

Towing

No matter which engine you go with, the Ranger is ready to tow up to 7,500 pounds. If you opt for the four-wheel-drive system, the truck's maximum payload capacity drops slightly from 1,805 pounds (with rear-wheel drive) to 1,711 pounds.

Fuel Economy

The EPA estimates that the four-cylinder Ranger gets 21 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway with rear-wheel drive, while four-wheel drive reduces both numbers by one mpg. With the V6 engine, the Ranger is rated at 19 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.

Interior Space

Inside, the Ranger has a fresh, modern feel with a digital gauge display, textured dashboard trim, and stylish honeycomb-patterned air vents. If comfort is high on your list, the Lariat trim steps it up with leather-trimmed, power-adjustable seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, a premium B&O sound system, and many more convenient features.

Most controls and buttons are now integrated into the infotainment system for a sleeker, more streamlined design. Ford also considered practicality, adding clever storage options like a hidden upper glovebox, large door pockets, and space under the rear seat. The Ranger is available in the SuperCrew crew cab body style, which has four doors and comfortably seats up to five passengers.

Technology Features

The Ranger comes with a 10.1-inch infotainment display, but if you're a tech enthusiast, you can upgrade to an even larger 12-inch, vertically oriented screen. Both options are powered by Ford's latest Sync 4 interface, which lets you control a range of features, including the handy zone-lighting system that lights up the exterior of the truck—perfect for illuminating a job site or finishing up your camp setup in the dark.

All trims also feature a digital gauge display, either eight or 12.4 inches, depending on the trim. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and you can opt for additional features like in-dash navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio.

Safety Features

The Ranger has a solid set of standard driver-assistance features. Still, if you're looking for more advanced safety technology, you can easily upgrade to a higher trim or add an option package. The good news is that these option packages are affordable. Some of the key safety features include:

  • Forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking
  • Available blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert
  • Available adaptive cruise control
