McLarty Daniel Ford Encourages Student Attendance With 4 Car Giveaway
McLarty Daniel Ford gave away four new vehicles to students with perfect attendance at schools in Benton County for the 2016-2017 school year, and again in the 2017-2018 school year.
The 2016-2017 year was the first to give away the vehicles, but according to owner Russ Daniel, it won't be the last! "We're still reeling from the results," Daniel said. "We tried to engage everybody," he said. "It's a big deal. There's some happy kids."
The giveaways were a way for the company to give back to the community. Before the start of the school year, McLarty Daniel Ford met with area school superintendents, and together came up with a car giveaway. For both school years, students at high schools in Bentonville and Rogers were encouraged to have perfect attendance. Students who had at least one nine-week period of perfect attendance had an opportunity to win a car.
School Principals, staff, parents and students were excited for the promotion. Here are a few of the quotes that were given to McLarty Daniel Ford in show of support for this promotion.
"While the giveaway not only had an impact on attendance, I'd like to think it had an impact on school spirit. Students were excited to come to school, and when students attend class, they make better grades."Jonathan Guthrie, Principal Bentonville West
"I think it is really generous for McLarty Daniel Ford to donate the car for that (student attendance incentive). It's cool!" Jaydra Smith, 10th grade BWHS
"McLarty Daniel Ford has provided a great motivator to the students to be at school every day! We are grateful for the attendance incentive for our students." Josh Thompson, Assistant Principal BWHS
"I really appreciate the encouragement from McLarty Daniel Ford. I feel it has really motivated students this year and helped by increasing student attendance." Tyler Stamps, 12th Grade, Rogers High School
"We appreciate McLarty Daniel Ford for donating the car. The car has provided a visible positive incentive for all students to earn perfect attendance at RHS!" Lewis Villines, Principal, Rogers High School
"The Rogers Community is very supportive of the schools. McLarty Daniel Ford is but one example and did they ever step up their support. They know that being present at school (and on the job) is so very important, and their giving away a car to a student with perfect attendance is one way to encourage our students. Thank you McLarty Daniel Ford," Karen Steen, Principal, Heritage High School.
In each of the four giveaways, 10 students with perfect attendance were selected and given a key at each school. Only one key started each vehicle, and the person with that key was the winner.
McLarty Daniel Ford looks forward to continued participation and success with The McLarty Daniel Ford Attendance Is The Key Promotion for the 2017-2018 School Year.
The vehicles given away were a 2016 Nissan Versa from McLarty Daniel Ford Nissan; a Jeep Renegade and Dodge Dart, from McLarty Daniel Ford Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram; and the Fiesta from McLarty Daniel Ford. Schools included in the giveaway this year were Bentonville High School, Bentonville West High School, Rogers High School, Rogers Heritage High School and Rogers New Technology High School.
