What is Ford SYNC Technology?

staticbrand-fordvehicle2023FordF-150MRP05
We’ve all heard those stories from our parents and grandparents about how in their day they had to walk five miles in the snow to get to school. While we can appreciate their hard work and determination, it’s not our fault Ford has developed technology to make not just our lives easier but our parents and grandparents' lives as well. Drive yourself to McLarty Daniel Ford in Bentonville off South Walton Blvd, and we’ll show you what Ford’s SYNC technology can do for you. Ford’s been in the auto business since the beginning of vehicles. People have gone from walking those five miles in the snow to driving those five miles. A lot has changed even in the last decade in terms of what our cars can do for us. Those stories of walking five miles in the snow have now been replaced with “When I was your age, we had to print out directions or use a map to navigate…” Now, If we want to drive from Gravette to Cave Springs or further to Farmington, all we do is plug in the address in our phone and we instantly get directions. With smartphones now such an integral part of our daily lives, every other aspect of our lives had to adapt, including our vehicles. Now, our smartphones can seamlessly transition for use in our Ford Escape, Expedition or F-150. No more cassette tape adapters or CDs (what’s a CD?) required to listen to your favorite playlist. While we all love a good boy band, this is a different type of way to get in sync with your Ford. Ford continues to up its game with not only safety advancements and redesigned interiors but also technology. Ford’s SYNC technology provides the ability to connect your phone using Bluetooth to make hands-free calls, get directions, play music and access apps by simply using your voice. Currently, Ford offers SYNC 3, which requires some mobile devices to connect using a USB cord, and SYNC 4 for a completely wireless connection. SYNC 4 has some added benefits we’ll look at later. So what can SYNC do for drivers? Let’s find out. Ford SYNC Can Do the Following: Make Hands-Free Calls: Pair your phone, and download your contact list to make calls with the push of a button. You’ll hear your phone call through your speakers. Get Directions on the Go: Just ask with the sound of your voice. Voice-Activated App Control: Use the touchscreen or your voice to access Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to use features such as text messaging or to listen to music and podcasts. Everything You Can Do with the Ford App Access Your Vehicle With Your Phone: If your vehicle is equipped with FordPass Connect, you can use the FordPass app to start, stop, lock and unlock your Ford from just about anywhere. Keep Connected With In-Vehicle Wi-Fi: With FordPass Connect, you can use 4G LTE in-vehicle Wi-Fi and connect up to 10 devices. The hotspot will work up to 50 feet outside the vehicle. How to Use FordPass Connect Remote Start Now back to what’s different about Ford SYNC 4. Ford SYNC 4 tech combines conversational voice recognition and cloud-based connectivity with software updates to bring you a seamless and personalized driving experience. Using natural voice control, SYNC 4 can respond to your natural speech, which lets you interact easier when asking for it to complete tasks like calling someone or playing music for you. SYNC 3 is available on these vehicles: 2023: EcoSport, Escape, Bronco Sport, Explorer, Maverick, Ranger, Transit Connect, Super Duty, Transit, Mustang, Transit CC-CA SYNC 4 is available on these vehicles: 2023: Bronco, Edge, Mustang Mach-E, Expedition, F-150, F-150 Lightning, Super Duty, Transit, Transit CC-CA, E-Transit Just think, when you start telling stories about growing up to your children and grandchildren, your stories won’t be so bad. “Remember that one time Ford SYNC made our lives so easy, we had everything at our fingertips…” It can only get better from here as Ford continues to make strides in all areas of automaking, including the best technology out there. Ford Donates Millions To Military Charities This Holiday Season

What a great story to get you into the Christmas spirit after a year of uncertainty. This holiday season, Ford Motor Company and Ford dealers are showing their support for U.S. military heroes by donating $3.5 million to military charities as part of the company’s Proud to Honor program, which works to raise awareness of the needs of veterans and to support partners who address those needs. “We are humbled by the sacrifices made by our military service members and their families,” said Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service. “Our Ford dealers are woven into the fabric of their communities and I’m proud of the support they provide to make a difference in the lives of our vets.” Through the Proud to Honor initiative, Ford raises awareness for members of the military, strengthen existing programs, and create a viable connection with those serving their country. Presently, Ford employs approximately 6,000 veterans. We can all help too with raising awareness for our veterans. Anyone who shares a post on social media reflecting pride in a member of the U.S. military, using #proud honor, Ford will donate $100 to be split evenly between the seven Ford Proud to Honor military charities, up to $3.5 million through Dec. 31, 2020.
