Whether for work or play, we know you’ve come to rely on the ability of the Ford F-150 to be in it for the long haul. The all-new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning is no different. For nearly 44 years, Ford F-series trucks have been America’s best-selling pickups, but at Ford, they have rethought what a truck can be. The Ford Lightning is the first-ever F-series that’s gas-free and all-electric, offering advanced technology and an elevated driving experience, all while being built Ford tough.

With zero to 60 miles per hour in around four seconds, the Ford Lightning lives up to its name. The Ford F-150 Lightning and its 533 horsepower and 775 pound-feet of torque give its drivers 10,000 pounds of towing capability as well as a 2,000-pound payload. With numbers like these, the F-150 Lightning is sure not to disappoint.

Standard models have a range of 230 miles, while an extended battery will provide you with roughly 300 miles of range. Not only is the F-150 Lightning fast when it comes to speed, but it also offers fast charging times with 30 miles per charging hour.

In terms of design, the F-150 Lightning resembles its relatives in the F-150 family; however, you may notice strip lighting both in the front of the truck as well as on the tailgate. One feature that sets this truck apart from the others is its front trunk, a frunk if you will. It has what Ford calls “a power frunk” where the engine would typically be in addition to a standard truck bed, offering drivers more storage than ever. You’ll also be able to find 11 total power outlets throughout the vehicle, which is perfect for work sites as well as even powering your house during a power outage.

In terms of technology, Ford has once again raised the bar with its 15.5-inch touch screen as well as the new Ford BlueCruise, which offers totally hand-free driving technology that’s currently only found in the Mustang Mach-E.

Prices for the Ford F-150 Lightning range between trim levels. The standard model starts at $39,974, while the most expensive model will start at $90,474. No fear, customers looking to purchase a Ford F-150 Lightning can expect a federal tax credit which would mark the vehicle’s price down by $7,500.

We don’t yet have an exact date for the Ford F-150 Lightning to roll into dealerships but, we hope to see them sometime in 2022.
