2021 Lincoln Nautilus Gets IIHS Top Safety Pick+

What does this mean, though? That’s a great question! To be eligible for the award, vehicles must obtain a satisfactory grade in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. Additionally, they must be equipped with a front crash prevention system that receives an advanced or superior rating in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian crash tests, as well as at least one headlamp package that has a good or acceptable grade. To earn the
higher-tier Top Safety Pick+ rating, all trim levels must include good or adequate headlights, which the new 2021 most certainly does.

For 2021, the award is valid for vehicles manufactured after March 2021, when the manufacturer implemented glare reduction improvements to one of the available headlamp systems. The Black Label trim’s LED projector headlights and the Reserve trim, when coupled with the Ultimate package, now earn an excellent rating. Due to considerable glare, the other two alternative headlamp systems received low ratings.

The Nautilus is available with two distinct front crash prevention systems, one standard and one optional, although both achieve superior or advanced ratings in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian crash tests.
