Ford debuts the redesigned, Mustang-inspired 2020 Ford Escape!
Since 2001, the Ford Escape has been helping American drivers find their way to work, play and adventure in an economical, small SUV that goes big on style, performance and safety. Now, with the all-new 2020 Ford Escape, Ford is ready to help a whole new generation of drivers find all those things and more in the smartest SUV Ford has ever built, including two all-new gas/electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains with best-in-class range! Ready to buy a 2020 Ford Escape in Bentonville? You've got a bit to wait yet, as the 2020 Ford Escape won't be on the lot at McLarty Daniel Ford for a few months. But read on for everything you need to know about this beautiful new SUV from Ford! Ford debuted the 2020 Escape on March 2. In designing the sleek new silhouette, Ford drew upon the design of two legendary stablemates: the Ford Mustang and the race-bred Ford GT. Up front, the shield-shaped trapezoidal grille of the new 2020 Ford Escape is inspired by the latest generation of the Ford Mustang, while the lower front fascia borrows aerodynamic tricks from the GT. From there, the design strikes a bold new tone, with a gracefully sloped roof, integrated rear spoiler and smoothed underbody to help the new Escape cut through the wind for the most aerodynamic SUV Ford has ever built. In addition, the 2020 Ford Escape sheds more than 200 pounds when compared to the current model, thanks to the use of lightweight, high-strength steel alloys. Inside, the 2020 Ford Escape delivers a quiet, spacious and comfortable passenger compartment, with sliding second-row seats for best-in-class maximum second-row legroom, plus increased knee clearance and footwell length for a more comfortable ride, and 37.5 cubic feet of cargo room with the second row slid completely forward. Though the 2020 Escape is slightly smaller externally than the previous model, clever design and use of materials add up to an overall increase in headroom, shoulder room and hip room for all passengers. Under that sleek new body are your choice of four new driveline options, including two gasoline engines, a gas/electric hybrid powertrain, and a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Standard on S, SE and SEL trim levels is the all-new 1.5-liter EcoBoost four cylinder, producing 180 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque, for towing of up to 2,000 pounds, plus world-class fuel economy thanks to cylinder deactivation when power needs are low. For more gas-powered oomph, there's the optional 2.0-liter EcoBoost four, available on Titanium trims, producing 250 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft of torque for maximum towing of 3,500 pounds. If you're looking for the ultimate in fuel economy, check out the 2020 Ford Escape with Ford's fourth-gen gas/electric hybrid powertrain, which includes a newly designed 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle generator linked to a continuously variable gearless transmission. The system is projected to deliver combined horsepower of 198, a top speed on the freeway of 85 mph in electric only mode, and 550 mile range on a single tank of gas while using both gas and electric power. Available on every trim level except S and SE Sport is the all-new 2020 Ford Escape plug-in hybrid, which has an EPA-estimated range of 30 miles on a fully charged battery. Featuring the ability to charge at both 110-volt home charging stations and 240-volt commercial stations, the 2020 Ford Escape plug in hybrid can charge in 11 hours on 110-volt current, and 3.5-hours on 220. The system features four selectable modes to help drivers fine-tune their drive. These include: -- Auto EV mode, which allows the 2020 Escape to "decide" whether to run on gasoline or electric power. -- EV Now mode, which allows the 2020 Escape to operate solely on battery power. -- EV Later mode, which allows drivers to switch to full gasoline propulsion to conserve electric miles for later. -- EV Charge mode, which allows drivers to continue to charge the battery while driving and generate electric-only miles to use later. "This all-new Escape brings a sleeker, sportier design with the capability to take you on just about any of your life's adventures," said Ford North America President Kumar Galhotra. "With our class-leading hybrid powertrains, customers will spend less time at the gas station and more time on the road." Ford brings the Zen with 2020 Explorer's 'Mindful Mode'
These days, we're all busier than ever, with most of us spending a significant portion of our day staring into a screen of one form or another. For anybody who ever went to be with bloodshot eyes after a day packed with screen time, the engineers behind the 2020 Ford Explorer have a partial solution. Ford recently announced that the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer will feature "Calm Screen" function -- A.K.A. "Mindful Mode" -- which reduces the information delivered by the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster to a minimum. With Calm Screen mode activated, the gauge cluster directly in front of the steering wheel will display only speed and fuel level, allowing drivers to focus on the road ahead without distractions. "We live in a world of ubiquitous screens, and the information can be overwhelming," said Ford Explorer Marketing Manager Lee Newcombe. "The new 'Mindful Mode' in the all-new Explorer offers a break from the constant stream of information and alerts bombarding us by giving drivers the option to disengage and take a moment for themselves away from the chaos technology can wreak." In announcing the function, Ford cited a recent Nielsen Media study that found the average American spends half their day processing information from a screen. A study by Ford Trends Report, meanwhile, found that half of all adults would appreciate a mandatory, daily "time out" from their devices. "It's no secret many people are tethered to their devices - engaging with screens at all hours day and night," said Sheryl Connelly with Ford Global Trends. "People are increasingly aware of and alarmed by their device dependency. Yet if there's one opportunity throughout the day to reduce your exposure to digital demands, it's when you're driving. Ford's new Explorer can serve as a sanctuary from chaos and distraction." The break from the digital noise that "Mindful Mode" can provide will pair well with the 2020 Ford Explorer, which features an exceptionally quiet cabin thanks to advanced door sealing, sound deadening, and acoustic glass, as well as an available 14-speaker premium sound system by B&O, supportive multi-contour seats with available heat and ventilation, and the new Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of driver-assistance technologies. Want to find your happy place? The all-new 2020 Ford Explorer will arrive at McLarty Daniel Ford this summer. If you want to be one of the first in Northwest Arkansas to own this beautiful new SUV from Ford, stop in at McLarty Daniel Ford, talk to our finance professionals, and get pre-approved today!
Ford receives patent on a system to turn your F-150 into an outdoor movie theater!
As we've mentioned a time or two, we love movies here at McLarty Daniel Ford. With springtime soon to be sprung, wouldn't it be great if there was a quick and easy way to watch a high-definition movie outside, at the lake, at the campground, or even in your own backyard? As we see everyday here at McLarty Daniel Ford, the big brains at Ford Engineering are always looking for new ways to make our lives cooler and more fun. Our wish appears to be their command, with the word that Ford recently received a patent for a way to instantly turn a pickup truck bed into a pop-up outdoor theater! Ford Motor Company's Ford Global Technologies LLC filed the patent application, titled "Portable Entertainment Support System for a Pickup Truck Box," with the U.S. Patent Office in August 2017. The application was granted in mid-February. As seen in design drawings filed with the Patent Office, the system consists of two rails that fit into special receivers -- called "interface plates" in the patent -- built into the inner walls of a pickup bed, one at the front near the cab, and another at the back near the tailgate. The front rail features a built-in, telescoping screen that rises up several feet higher than the pickup cab. The rear rail, meanwhile, includes three sockets, into which fit the mounting brackets for two high-definition speakers on either side and a high-definition digital projector in the middle. Hit a button, and the screen pops up. From there, all you need to do is drop the tailgate, set up some lawn chairs, and then play your favorite Hollywood hits in the great outdoors, courtesy of your Ford F-150 and one clever screen. In the "background" section of the patent filing, Ford describes how and why the system might be useful to truck owners, adding that the use of interface plates to mount the system will avoid requiring owners to drill or modifying their pickup box, which can lead to corrosion or compromise the integrity of the truck box. There's no word on when or if Ford will actually build and sell this very clever projector/screen mounting design, but it sure gets our wheels turning on how cool it would be to have something like this for overnight camping or trips to the lake. While we'd never suggest running afoul of the U.S. Patent Office or our friends at Ford, in looking at the drawings, it appears that a movie lover who was even moderately handy could come up with lightweight DIY projector and screen mounting rails that could quickly and easily drop into the stake pocket holes of their Ford truck's bed in seconds, possibly using either wood, metal or PVC pipe. Hmmmmm.... Be right back. Gotta make a hardware store run! To read the full patent application from Ford, with more detailed drawings, click here.
Last Ford Taurus model rolls off the assembly line in Chicago
It was the end of an era at Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant on March 1, 2019, as the final 2019 Ford Taurus rolled off the assembly line, the last of over 8 million Taurus models built at the plant during the last 34 years of almost constant production. Introduced in 1985 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the first generation Ford Taurus was a revolutionary design, discarding the industry's reliance on boxy, squared-off shapes in favor of a sleek, shapely and sculptural design that would set the bar for car design for the next decade. Just as revolutionary was the 1985 Taurus' 140-horsepower 3.0-liter V6 engine, which featured one of the industry's first applications of multi-port fuel injection. In 1989, the Ford Taurus changed the industry again with the introduction of the Ford Taurus SHO. The acronym stood for Super High Output, with the models delivering on that promise thanks to a 220-horsepower, 24-valve high-performance V6 built in unique partnership with Yamaha. The engine, known internally at Ford as "The Shogun," allowed the Ford Taurus SHO to rocket from zero to 60 in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed of 143 miles per hour. At the time, the Ford Taurus SHO was the fastest and most powerful four-door sedan under $20,000, with the only sedans offering more power in 1989 being the $51,000 BWM M5 and the $71,000 BMW 750iL. The success of the Ford Taurus kept building, and by 1992, it was America's best-selling car, with Ford-affiliated NASCAR teams running Taurus bodies starting in 1998. It remains Ford's fifth best-selling vehicle of all time, with only the F-150, Escort, Model T and Mustang selling more examples. The nameplate was briefly retired in 2006 before the sixth-generation Taurus was introduced in 2008. "Taurus broke new ground at its start and we're thankful for its role in our portfolio," said Mark LaNeve, Ford vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service. "Those same kinds of innovations will continue for today's customers with Ford Explorer and the rest of our lineup." Ford's Chicago Assembly Plant and Chicago Stamping plant, where the Ford Taurus has been built since 1985, will be retooled in a $1 billion dollar investment that will add 500 new jobs, with the plant turning to production of the next-generation 2020 Ford Explorer, 2020 Police Interceptor Utility, and the 2020 Lincoln Aviator. It's part of a move that will see Ford replace 75 percent of its current vehicle lineup by the end of 2020, expanding truck and SUV offerings with vehicles like the 2020 Ford Ranger, the all-new 2020 Ford Bronco, a still-unnamed off-road crossover, and a Mustang-inspired high-performance electric SUV. We're sad to see the Ford Taurus go, because we've sold a lot of them at this dealership since 1985. Still, we're excited to see all that's new coming from Ford, and if the revival of the Ranger and Bronco names is any guide, something tells us this won't be the last we see of the iconic Taurus nameplate. Ready to get in on all the exciting new things happening at Ford? Then stop in today at McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville, check out the all new 2019 Ford Ranger, and our award-winning lineup of Ford trucks, cars, vans and SUVs! Best of all: we can show you how you can take one home today! Come see us!
The Grand Opening of the all-new McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville!
Letting go of the past is always hard. In the case of the old McLarty Daniel Ford dealership at 2609 S. Walton Boulevard, it was especially so given the location's place in the history of Northwest Arkansas, including being the dealership where Walmart founder Sam Walton bought the now-iconic red-and-white 1979 Ford F-150 pickup he drove until his passing in April 1992. But with the grand opening of our gleaming new dealership on March 15, the all-new McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville is ready for the next 50 years of serving the citizens of Northwest Arkansas. Built from the ground up with the goal of better serving our customers, our new 46,685 square foot facility includes a greatly expanded service area with more than double the number of advisors, a larger waiting area with more comfortable chairs, a larger showroom with dedicated space for Lincoln vehicles, an on-site car wash and much more room on the lot for an even bigger selection of new and pre-owned vehicles. Our hope is that the new McLarty Daniel Ford will serve not only as the premiere place to buy a new Ford or Lincoln vehicle in Northwest Arkansas, but also as a hub for showcasing the great things happening in our community for years to come. Built by Harco Constructors of North Little Rock on a 10.6-acre site at a cost of over $10 million dollars, the multi-level dealership includes a bright and airy new showroom, lined with scenes of Bentonville, including one shot of Sam Walton's F-150 parked in front of the original Walmart location downtown. "I commissioned a local guy and he took all the photos for us," said McLarty Daniel Ford General Manager Jason Hooe. "We had a local print shop print them up. It was important to me to go local with everything. It couldn't have turned out better. I think we got the right temperament for the store. It ties us to the community. The community is a big deal to me." The grand opening on March 15 was packed with state, local and national luminaries, as well as the customers who have shopped with McLarty Daniel Ford in the past. Bentonville Mayor Stephanie Orman, U.S. Representative Steve Womack and U.S. Senator John Boozman were on hand to speak, in addition to a free concert by Nashville recording artist Coffey Anderson. The grand opening also included an event with Northwest Arkansas charity The Pack Shack, with dozens of volunteers on hand to pack thousands of free meals for the homeless. Hooe said that pairing the dealership's official launch with a Pack Shack event is not only a great way to help the less fortunate, but also symbolic of the mission he sees for McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville in the years to come. "We're not going to blow our own horn," he said. "I'd rather have the first act of this business be a service to the community than have it be something where we say: 'Look at us!'" Another luminary on hand for the Grand Opening was Brad Bellamy, Marketing Reputation Manager for Ford Motor Company. Surveying the photos of Bentonville that hang in the dealership showroom before the ribbon cutting, Bellamy said: "You look around, and you see the different pictures on the walls. That's unique to this dealership. And it shows how important the partnership is between Bentonville and McLarty Daniel Ford." Come help us celebrate the all-new McLarty Daniel Ford! Stop in today, look around, have some coffee or a bottled water in our beautiful new customer lounge, and let us show you what it means when we say McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville wants to be a completely different kind of dealership, and a resource for the people of Northwest Arkansas.
Iconic Ford logo hits the runway, with legendary design house Versace | McLarty Daniel Ford
Though our sense of high fashion pretty much stops at jeans and three-button golf shirts here at McLarty Daniel Ford, we do love Ford's iconic Blue Oval logo. Now it appears haute couture clothing design house Versace Fashion has a thing for it as well. In a unique partnership between Ford Motor Company and Versace, the pioneering fashion label had top models sporting the Ford logo while strutting the catwalk during this year's Milan Fashion Week in Milan, Italy in January. Part of the label's "The Versace Man" collection, which debuted at Milan Fashion Week, the Ford logo was prominently featured on a variety of Versace designs in the show, including pants, shirts, skirts, hooded sweatshirts and a one-off leather jacket designed to emulate the feel of an old-school Ford racing jacket. According to a news release from Versace, The Versace Man collection "reflects on the modern concept of man, an idea of masculinity that pushes the boundaries and breaks the rules of menswear by challenging notions and stereotypes. Only a confident man is able to see beyond the status quo and challenge it. This newly found attitude gives him the freedom and security to ignore conventional norms around beauty, and even more so, around masculinity." While the partnership might strike some Ford fans as an odd pairing, executives at Ford say it represents a cutting-edge trend in corporate marketing and fashion, with the logos of iconic brands being seen more for their design than the products they sell. "We're seeing a lot of luxury brands pairing with iconic brands that are kind of opposite," Joy Falotico, chief marketing officer for Ford, told the Detroit Free Press. "There's a clothing brand called Supreme, and they partnered with McDonald's, and Marc Jacobs did something with MTV. Coca-Cola has done a lot of branding. That's why we weren't really that shocked." The limited edition collection featuring the Ford logo will be sold at Versace stores worldwide. For more information, check out this story on the unique partnership between Ford and Versace from the Detroit Free Press.
Ford Debuts the all-new 2020 Ford Super Duty! | McLarty Daniel Ford
If you have loads to tow and haul that even the incredible 2019 Ford F-150 can't handle, Ford just premiered a powerful new solution: the redesigned 2020 Ford Super Duty! Packed full of styling, power and features to make even the toughest workday shorter, the 2020 Ford Super Duty is a game changer, with the highest conventional, gooseneck and fifth-wheel towing numbers in Ford's over 100 year history. Want to buy a 2020 Ford Super Duty in Bentonville? You've got a bit to wait yet, as the all-new Super Duty isn't scheduled to hit the lot at McLarty Daniel Ford until this fall. For now, read on for everything we know about the next-gen tow rig from Ford. With all the major heavy duty truck makers bringing in big numbers, Ford knew they had to go big or go home on power train options and boy, did they. For those who prefer gasoline power, the 2020 Ford Super Duty will feature an all-new 7.3-liter V8. While horsepower and torque numbers haven't been released yet, Ford promises it will be the most powerful gasoline V8 in its class, with world-class durability, ease of maintenance, towing and hauling. The engine will reportedly be a cam-in-block overhead valve architecture, with a cast iron block and forged steel crankshaft for bombproof durability. Built for sustained, heavy work, the engine will feature trick techniques like variable valve timing and oil jets to cool the pistons under heavy loads. For those who prefer the low-end torque and fuel economy of diesel, there's the third-generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke. Always looking to make a great engine even more robust, Ford engineers have strengthened the cylinder head, block, connecting rods and bearings to handle higher cylinder pressures and power output. Those changes will be welcome, given the new Power Stroke's electronic-activated variable geometry turbocharger that inproves efficiency and throttle response, and a new fuel injection system that sprays fuel up to eight times per stroke at 36,000 psi to get the ultimate power out of every drop of diesel while reducing noise levels and optimizing combustion. Ford hasn't released power numbers on the 6.7-liter Power Stroke, but they're bound to be considerable. The 2020 Ford Super Duty will also offer a 6.2-liter gasoline V8 as standard power. Any of the three available engines can be backed by the all-new 10-speed TorqShift transmission. Featuring a wider gear ratio span than the six-speed it replaces, the TorqShift 10-speed was built from a clean sheet of paper to thrive in the harshest towing conditions, and includes advanced features like line-drive power takeoff, which allows the driver to engage and operate equipment like snowplows and winches without shifting the truck into park. The transmission also features selectable drive modes that include normal, tow/haul, eco, slippery, and deep sand and snow. "With the addition of the 7.3-liter V8, upgrades to our 6.7-liter and the debut of an all-new 10-speed transmission, we are delivering the strongest, most capable Super Duty powertrain offerings yet," said Mike Pruitt, Ford Super Duty chief engineer. Ford 3D prints an 'impossible intake' for racer Ken Block | McLarty Daniel Ford
From literally creating the assembly line to today's cutting edge engine, safety and information systems, Ford has been at the forefront of automotive engineering for over 100 years, building the future through innovation and drive that defines the brand. That commitment to innovation was recently put to the test when drift car racer and Gymkhana star Ken Block approached Ford with a problem: how to create an intricate, impossible-to-cast or machine twin-turbo intake for the 3.5-liter Ford EcoBoost V6 -- the same engine that powers the incredible 2019 Ford GT -- he planned to install in his wildest creation: an all-wheel-drive 1977 Ford F-150 he calls The Hoonitruck. Block was building the truck for the latest in his Gymkhana drift racing videos, Gymkhana TEN. To make this "impossible intake" a reality, Ford turned to the newest tool in their mission to create the future of driving: a printer that can make functional, three-dimensional metal objects by using powerful lasers to melt powder into solid shapes, building them up one paper-thin layer at a time. Also called additive manufacturing, 3D printing is the manufacturing process of tomorrow, and could someday allow everyone from Ford engineers to at-home mechanics to literally print close-tolerance steel or aluminum parts quickly and easily on a workbench instead of having them cast or machined and then shipped. "We are fortunate to have access to incredible technology, but this was one project that pushed us - and our computing power - to the absolute limit," said Raphael Koch, engineer, Advanced Materials and Processes with Ford of Europe. "The manifold has a complex web‑like structure that couldn't be made using traditional manufacturing methods." Designed and computer simulated by Ford engineers in the U.S. and Europe, the intake for Block's Hoonitruck was created over five days with the assistance of the Aachen Digital Additive Production Institute in Germany, When completed, the intake achieved a milestone for Ford and the future of 3D printing technology as the largest and most intricate 3D printed metal part ever produced and installed on a working vehicle. Just as impressive, the unique airflow properties of the intake, which weighs a little over 13 pounds, helped The Hoonitruck produce more than 900 horsepower. "I think Ford did an exceptional job," said Block. "This is my favorite part of the 'Hoonitruck'. You could not have made it any other way." Check out this very cool video from Ford for a brief recap of the process by which Block's impossible intake was created: https://youtu.be/6GsuRCGEZno And if you want to see The Hoonitruck using every one of those 900 ponies -- alongside four other incredible Ford drift racing machines -- check out Ken Block in Gymkhana Ten right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_KBvP0_8Tc
Why downtown parking is a breeze in the 2019 Ford EcoSport | McLarty Daniel Ford
We've all been there: minutes to go before an appointment, date or meeting downtown, and you're left circling, circling, circling, looking desperately for a free parking spot. And when you do find one? It's usually too tight of a squeeze for you to confidently parallel park. As you sit there, judging your skill at parallel parking against that tight space, somebody behind you gets impatient and starts honking. Parking headaches are something we all share. According to a 2017 study by connected car services provider INRIX, drivers nationwide are burning precious hours -- yes, hours -- every year looking for a precious parking spot. Residents of New York City, for instance, spend an average of 107 hours per year looking for a parking spot. In Los Angeles, it's 85 hours. In San Francisco, 83 hours. Nationwide, the average is 17 hours per year, just looking for a parking spot. If you've got better things to do with your time than look for a parallel parking spot, check out the peppy, nimble, reliable 2019 Ford EcoSport. The most compact SUV in America at only 161.3 inches long, the 2019 Ford EcoSport goes big on styling, features, safety and interior room, besting competitors in cargo capacity even though it has a shorter wheelbase and overall length. That bigger-on-the-inside trick is thanks to features like a rear cargo floor that is adjustable to three handy positions and flip-and-fold seats that can create a flat cargo floor from the rear bumper to the dash if need be. How does the 2019 Ford EcoSport shape up against the competitors in its class? Let's look at some numbers: More cargo room than Mini Countryman, but 8.5 inches shorter More cargo room than Buick Encore, but seven inches shorter More cargo room than Mazda CX-3, but seven inches shorter More cargo room than Chevy Trax, but six inches shorter What are you going to do with the 17 hours you won't have to spend looking for a parking spot this year? Better figure it out, because with the 2019 Ford EcoSport, you'll have a little more time on your hands. Ready to buy a 2019 Ford EcoSport in Fayetteville, Rogers or Springdale? Ford unveils the all-new 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500! | McLarty Daniel Ford
In the history of racing, there are very few names that cast a longer shadow than Shelby. Ford Mustangs bearing the Shelby name are some of the fastest and most desirable muscle cars ever built. Set to outpace them all, however, is the all-new Mustang Shelby GT500. Ford's answer to the top-tier pony car offerings by Dodge and Chevy isn't fooling around. With a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 producing more than 700 horsepower, it's the most powerful street-legal Ford in the company's hundred year history. After months on teasing on social media and the automotive press, Ford finally took the wraps off the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, with Ford President Jim Farley using the opportunity to pay homage to Carroll Shelby. "Carroll was always working on the next faster Shelby," Farley said. "I think he would love this Mustang more than any other. A takedown artist, the new Shelby GT500 will surprise supercar owners with its Ford Performance racing tech, supercharged engine and visceral swagger." Arriving at dealerships this fall, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 will join it's more sedate but still formidable cousin, the Mustang Shelby GT350. Under the hood is a hand-built, all-aluminum 5.2-liter V8 capped with a 2.65-liter roots-type supercharger with an integrated air-to-liquid intercooler, pushing boost through high-flow cylinder heads to a short block with larger forged connecting rods, a flat-plane crank and improved oiling and cooling. A structural oil pan with a patented "active baffle" system buttons up the bottom end. Final horsepower numbers weren't released, but Ford promises "700-plus," which will put it on par or better with the Camaro ZL1 and Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Sending that power rearward is a TREMEC 7-speed dual-clutch transmission which Ford says can shift in less than 100 milliseconds, and which includes driver-adjustable modes including normal, slippery, sport, drag and track, with line-lock front braking for easy dragstrip burnouts, and a rpm-selectable launch control for picture perfect quarter mile launches. A carbon fiber driveshaft sends power to a high-performance rear end, then down to Shelby-specific forged alloy rims running Michelin Pilot 4S tires. Bringing the halt at the largest front brake rotors ever installed from the factory on a sport coupe: gargantuan 16.5-inch two piece rotors, with six-piston calipers by racing provider Brembo. Two handling packages will be available. The standard Handling Package includes adjustable struts, and a large rear spoiler. For true track performance, up the ante with the Carbon Fiber Track Package, with 20-inch carbon fiber rims, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, an adjustable carbon fiber wing out back and a functional splitter up front. You'll have to leave the kids at home, though, as the package deletes the rear seat to save weight. Visually, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is all about attitude, with a double-front grille opening, classic Shelby Cobra emblems, and a more pronounced hood bulge and a 31 inch by 28 inch louvered hood vent with removable alloy rain tray. Inside, there's race-inspired trim and materials, including extensive use of carbon fiber, available Recaro racing seats with functional bolstering and cutouts for a five point racing harness, and more. Front and center is a new 12-inch full-color LCD instrument cluster, plus available premium audio by B&O Play, controlled by the 8-inch SYNC3 touch screen. Do you have what it takes to handle the incredible power and head-turning looks of the 2020 Ford Mustang GT500? Once you select a trim level and drivetrain, you'll be moved to another window with more equipment and detail options, including six different exterior paint choices, available interior color choices, and technology equipment groups, which allow you to either stick with the standard touchscreen and audio system, or upgrade to a more advanced system with features including more interior speakers and 4G Wi-Fi connectivity. Scrolling down, you'll find the same page includes options for Exterior Packages, including the bed utility package, Ford's Co-Pilot 360 suite of advanced driver-assistance features, the trailer towing package, the STX Appearance package, and more. Scrolling down even further gives you several alloy wheel options along with checkable boxes to opt for features like spray in bedliner, a tonneau cover for the bed, different rear axle ratios, optional tires, seating options, floor covering options, cold weather accessories and much more. Every choice you make in the configurator is reflected in the price at monthly payment at the top of the page.
