2021 F-150’s Tail Lights With New Scales

For those times when you’ve wondered how much weight your truck is carrying at any given moment, wonder no more! The 2021 Ford F-150 has a new tool for you! How does Onboard Scales that can evaluate cargo weight and display capacity in real-time sound?

The new Onboard Scales are an available option for the 2021 Ford F-150 model year that measure and display the truck’s approximate payload. As well as on the truck’s touch screen, the FordPass app displays the truck’s load information on a smartphone.

The F-150’s tail lamp LEDs work similarly to your phone’s battery charge indicator. LEDs arranged in a vertical bar show the percentage of payload capacity the truck is now carrying. All four lights will turn on when the vehicle is completely loaded to the maximum payload of xx pounds. The top lights glow as a warning when you’ve loaded too much. It’s a brilliant use of the F-150’s technology and functionality. By the way, the maximum payload is determined by the configuration of the pickup and is programmed into the system.
