Ford marks nine straight months of F-150 sales over 70,000, while other Ford models show strong growth ‘ McLarty Daniel Ford
Though a lot has changed in the past 41 years, one thing that hasn’t is Ford F-150’s status as America’s best-selling truck. That’s a long time to be King of the Hill, but with a great mix of styling, technology, capability and performance, Ford F-150 looks poised to remain at the head of the pack for years to come. A good predictor that Ford F-150’s market dominance shows no time of ending anytime soon is a recent sales report from Ford Motor Company on the continuation of a record sales streak for Ford trucks, with Ford reporting that in November, Ford F-150 had again sold over 70,000 units for the ninth straight month! That’s almost two new Ford F-150 trucks sold per minute, every hour of every day, for nine consecutive months!
November sales of new Ford F-Series models were 72,102 trucks.
In a report issued on December 1, Ford reported the continuing record sales of the popular Ford F-150, along with similar, record-breaking sales for other models. Sales of the Ford Expedition, for instance, were up 7.9 percent for November, with top-level trims like Platinum and Limited driving most of the growth. Sales of the Ford Transit cargo van, the world’s best selling work and delivery van, were also up by 10 percent in November when compared to last year, while the smaller, city-friendly Ford Transit Connect van was up by 17 percent.
Lincoln, which is produced under the Ford Motor Company umbrella, also recorded record-breaking sales. According to Ford, the 2019 Lincoln Navigator Black Label, the highest level trim package of the popular luxury SUV, lingered an average of just 14 days on dealer lots before sale. Similarly, the new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus has been well-received by the public, with the average model staying on dealer lots just nine days before purchase, and sales up by 27.3 percent.
“F-Series marked a record none straight months topping the 70,000 truck mark” said Ford Vice President for U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service Mark LaNeve, “a consistent performance by a high-volume, high margin product unmatched in the industry. Sales of our all new Expedition and Transit Connect continue to grow, as does our mix of trucks, SUVs and vans. This mix totaled 82 percent in November, boosting our transaction pricing to a new record of $37,000 per vehicle.”
