We all hear about electric cars, but unless we’ve owned one ourselves, we don’t know too much about them. It’s kind of like the cloud. We know it’s there, and it exists, but we don’t really know how it all works. For gas-powered engines, we’re used to paying at the pump. We know if we run out of gas, we can get it at the next gas station. With electric vehicles, there’s still the concern of where and how to charge the EV. Whether you’re looking for an electric, hybrid or gas vehicle, McLarty Daniel Ford in Bentonville, AR, has new Ford models as well as used cars, trucks, SUVs and vans just waiting for you.
Let’s say you haven’t done any research about buying an electric car. You just know you want one, and want to save money on gas. If you visit MD Ford, we’ve got several EVs for you to choose from, including the Mustang Mach-E SUV, the F-150 Lightning pickup truck and the E-Transit van.

Now that you’ve picked out an EV model, how do you go about charging it? As we mentioned before, with gas-powered engines, you can almost always find a gas station around the corner. But if you have to charge your electric car to get it to go, what happens if you aren’t near a charger? We’ve all been in that predicament where we’ve left our phone charger at home. Our phone dies, and we feel like our left arm has been cut off. We have no communication with the outside world. Heaven forbid you miss a Facebook notification. Maybe, that’s a little dramatic, but you get the point.
All kidding aside, it can be scary when you don’t have power. It’s the same idea with an electric car, but your stakes are even higher since you don’t want to be stranded on the highway without power. As we’ve adapted to smartphones over time, we’ve introduced them into every other aspect of our lives. We’ve made room for them because they’re convenient, and we can hold everything we need in the palm of our hands. So in order to keep that power, we’ve bought chargers and stashed them in every corner of our homes, our offices, and our cars.
It’s the same idea with electric vehicles. If we’re going to be driving EVs, then we’re going to need chargers in our homes and charging stations all along the road. So what’s the solution? Ford has created the FordPass App, which allows you to access the BlueOval Charge Network, which gives you access to a variety of charging providers without a bunch of confusing swipe-cards and phone apps. Get pay-as-you-go access to Electrify America, Shell Recharge Solutions, ChargePoint, EVgo, EV Connect, Sema Connect, FLO and Electric Circuit.
Literally, Everything is at Your Fingertips with the FordPass App
Ford continues to make advancements in providing access to chargers for electric car drivers. They recently announced a partnership with Tesla. Starting in 2024, Ford EV drivers will have access to 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada, in addition to the over 10,000 DC fast-chargers that are part of the BlueOval Charge Network. Drivers of the Mustang Mach-E, F-150 Lightning and E-Transit will have access to the Superchargers using an adapter and software integration along with activation and payment via FordPass or Ford Pro Intelligence. Because of this partnership with Tesla, starting in 2025, Ford will equip future EVs with the NACS charge port, removing the need for an adapter for direct access to Tesla Superchargers.
