Five Of Our Favorite Features of the 2021 Bronco!
Last month, Ford finally took the wraps off the one we’ve all been waiting for since 1996: the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco. Featuring incredible retro-modern style that harkens back to the original, first-gen Broncos built between 1966-1977, the 2021 Ford Bronco also features the latest in technology, safety and drivetrain innovations. It all adds up to the best-looking, best-performing Bronco in the nameplate’s 50 year history!
We’re incredibly excited to get our hands on the 2021 Ford Bronco, and it appears Bronco fans are too! Reservations for the new Bronco have been pouring in to the 2021 Ford Bronco Reservation page on McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville’s website as people clamor to get in on the hottest launch from Ford since the original 1965 Mustang! Are you ready to reserve a 2021 Ford Bronco in Bentonville today? Of course you are!
The more we read about the 2021 Ford Bronco, the more excited we are about it. Seen below, check out five of our favorite features of the 2021 Ford Bronco! And when you’re ready, hurry on over to the 2021 Ford Bronco reservation page at McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville online, and reserve YOUR 2021 Bronco today! Don’t wait.
HEY, GOOD LOOKIN’: The main thing we can’t get enough of is how the 2021 Ford Bronco looks. Slab-sided and boxy, but packed with sleek and modern touches inside and out, it looks like an 1966 Bronco from a radically-different and more advanced parallel universe! With quickly-removable doors and top for open-air fun in the sun, it’s a Bronco for a whole new century, and sure looks the part from any angle.
BEST IN CLASS GROUND CLEARANCE: While a “faux-roader” SUV is fine if you’re never going to be going anywhere you might get some dust on the undercarriage, those looking for true adventure know that when you’re off-roading, ground clearance is the difference between powering through and continuing your journey or breaking out the shovel and getting to work doing the un-fun part of digging out. The 2021 Bronco does that better too, with available ground clearance of up to 11.6 inches. That’s best-in-class, for more fun and less winching.
BEST IN CLASS WATER FORDING: Another thing you quickly realize if you’re one of those folks who actually use your 4×4 to go off-roading is: not every creek, stream or mud hole has a bridge over it. That’s where the ability to ford water without damaging your engine, electrical components and interior is crucial. The 2021 Bronco does that better than any other SUV too, boasting available water fording of 33.5 inches. Find yourself a tape measure and appreciate just how deep 33.5 inches is: just a inch or so under average kitchen countertop height.
POWER AND EFFICIENCY: With gas stations few and far between out on the trails, finding the perfect blend of efficiency and power is crucial. Buy an SUV that doesn’t have the fuel efficiency you need, and you might find yourself walking toward civilization with an empty jerry-can. Not enough power, and you won’t have the grunt to push through mud, rock and ruts. That’s where you’ll appreciate Ford Bronco, with modern turbocharging technology that squeezes big power from every ounce of fuel. The available turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost six-cylinder, for example, churns of a V8-like 310 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.
THROW YOUR OWN SHIFTS: While the SUV world has taken a serious turn away from manual transmissions in recent years, preferring instead the ease and simplicity of automatic transmissions, many hardcore off-roaders still love manual transmissions for the precise torque application in tricky situations while crawling. Three-pedal fans will be happy to hear the 2021 Ford Bronco features an available speed manual transmission that’s literally made for crawling, with six standard gears plus a seventh “granny low” crawler gear with a best-in-class 94.75-to-1 crawl ratio for world-turning torque.

Ford debuts 1,400-hp Mustang Mach-E 1400 Prototype!
From the iconic Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 to the Ford F-150 Raptor to the all-new 2021 Ford Bronco, Ford Performance is legendary. That long heritage of celebrating speed and exhilarating acceleration isn’t about to change as America and the world make the turn away from fossil fuels toward greener, more environmentally-friendly propulsion systems, either.
Case in point, the incredible, all-electric 1400-horsepower Mustang Mach-E 1400. Based on the incredible 2021 Mustang Mach-E electric SUV that’s coming next year, the Mustang Mach-E 1400 prototype was built in a collaboration between Ford and RTR vehicles to showcase the promise and performance of all-electric propulsion systems.

Built by the same team that brought you the all-electric Mustang Cobra Jet 1400, the Mustang Mach-E 1400 is even more of a mind-blower, packing seven electric motors and an ultra-high-performance battery system that deliver 1,400 horsepower almost instantaneously to all four wheels. The result is a drag or drift car that can hang with even the highest-horsepower combustion-powered race machines, with a 160-mile-per-hour top speed and 2,300 pounds of downforce, for sticks-like-glue handling.
“Now is the perfect time to leverage electric technology, learn from it, and apply it to our lineup,” said Ron Heiser, chief program engineer, Mustang Mach-E. “Mustang Mach-E is going to be fun to drive, just like every other Mustang before it, but Mustang Mach-E 1400 is completely insane, thanks to the efforts of Ford Performance and RTR.”
Requiring over 10,000 hours to complete, with input from Ford GT racing engineers and RTR Vehicles founder and legendary drift racer Vaughn Gittin, Jr., the Mustang Mach-E 1400 features three high-torque electric motors attached to the front differential, plus four more equally-powerful motors driving the rear wheels. The set-up allows the Mustang Mach-E 1400 to be quickly tuned for a wide variety of racing applications, including drag racing, drifting and high-speed oval track racing. Massive fender flares allow for wider tires to put the torque and power to good use, while aerodynamic optimizers include functional cooling ducts, a front splitter, dive planes and a large, adjustable rear wing. The hood of the Mustang Mach-E 1400 is made of organic composite fibers, a lighter-weigh alternative to carbon fiber.
“Getting behind the wheel of this car has completely changed my perspective on what power and torque can be,” said Vaughn Gittin Jr., RTR Vehicles founder, motorsports champion and professional fun-haver. “This experience is like nothing you’ve ever imagined, except for maybe a magnetic roller coaster.”
Power delivery can be split evenly between front and rear, or all torque can be sent to either the front or rear wheels independently. Powering the Mustang Mach-E 1400 is a 56.8-kilowatt-hour liquid-cooled battery, with nickel manganese cobalt pouch cells for ultra-high performance and high discharge rate. An electronic brake booster allows the system to recover some lost charge during braking.
If this is a glimpse at how exciting our more electrified future will be for performance fans, bring it on! The all-electric Mustang Mach-E SUV will be hitting our lot at McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville this fall! Ready to get in on the revolution? Then give us a call and start the process to reserve a Mustang Mach-E in Bentonville, Rogers, Fayetteville or Springdale today!
Ford launches 10-part ‘Bring Back Bronco’ podcast
Here at McLarty Daniel Ford, when we’re heading out on a long road-trip, we love our long-form podcasts almost as much as we love the great Ford vehicles that carry us on their way. There’s no better way to pass the long miles on the road than a terrific podcast, and now our two loves have met in the middle, with “Bring Back Bronco: The Untold Story.”
A ten-part series hosted and narrated by NPR automotive reporter Sonari Glinton, “Bring Back Bronco” is a riveting look at the introduction of the original Ford Bronco in 1966, subsequent models and controversies — including the infamous O.J. Simpson slow-speed chase in a white 1996 Bronco — the retirement of the name, and the subsequent, ultimately-successful attempts within Ford to bring back the Bronco to American streets and trails.

“Bronco Sport has the toughness and smarts to help turn off-road novices into 4×4 pros,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford chief of product development. “Bronco Sport embraces the needs of outdoor enthusiasts – every inch of it was designed and engineered with weekend adventurers in mind.”
The family resemblance between the 2021 Bronco and the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is unmistakable, featuring a rugged, retro-futuristic design with bold grille, flat sides, round headlamps, and short front and rear overhangs to help the Bronco Sport mount, climb and leave behind obstacles that would shred the bodywork of a “street only” compact SUV. Industrial, unpainted finishes are prominent on the exterior, helping the Bronco Sport be ready for anything Mother Nature can send your way. Five trim levels will available, including the Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks, Badlands and First Edition, the last of which will be available exclusively at launch.
Each trim package is adventure-centric, built to evoke a certain landscape. The First Edition, for example, features standard 29-inch all-terrain tires with aggressive tread for improved traction in mud, muck or sand.
Built for today’s athletic and outdoorsy lifestyles, the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport is designed to go seamlessly from your commute to mountain trails, and is built hardy and resilient inside and out to stand up to the punishment of off-roading. For example, thanks to the high, “Safari”-style rear roof, when the rear seats are folded flat, the Bronco Sport is specifically designed to securely transport two full-size mountain bikes standing upright. Four accessory bundles that will be available from Ford Performance let you personalize your Bronco Sport for whatever you’re into, including kits for kayaking, skiing, camping and more.
Delivering the off-road capability and robustness that can get you out to where the pavement ends and back again is the Bronco Sport’s advanced 4×4 system, with a class-exclusive twin-clutch rear drive with an electronic locking differential. Utilizing a high-tech assist and constant computer monitoring, the system can instantly divert almost 100 percent of rear-axle driving torque to the wheel with the most grip, helping your Bronco Sport dig its way out of trouble that would stop any other small SUV in its tracks. Upping the ante is the Bronco Sport’s available Terrain Management system, with seven available modes to fine-tune drivetrain systems to the task at hand, including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand; Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl mode. Keeping rocks, logs and other obstacles from mulching your drivetrain are four steel bash plates, while frame-mounted tow hooks let you give a tow to stuck Jeeps you might happen past on the trail. Badlands and First Edition Bronco Sports are even designed to ford up to two feet of water without damage.
Providing the push to your weekend fun will be either the 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo engine, with best-in-class 245 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, or the 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine with a 181 horsepower and 190 lb.-ft. of torque. Both will be backed by an eight-speed automatic, with some editions equipped with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. To make cleanup after muddy fun easier, the Badlands and First Edition Bronco Sport models will feature washable rubber flooring throughout the passenger cabin, plus easy-clean cloth seats and silicone sealed, weatherproof switches and knobs.
Is the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport safe? As if you have to ask! Every Bronco Sport will come equipped with Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of advanced driver-assist technologies that includes Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking featuring Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Dynamic Brake Support, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System, Auto High Beam Headlamps and a rearview camera.

Ready to buy a 2021 Ford Bronco in Northwest Arkansas? Sadly, we’ve still got a little bit of waiting to do until the next-gen Bronco hits the lot at McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville, but we’ve got all the details to get you ready for this game-changing off-roader with the familiar new name! Want to get on the waiting list for a new Bronco? Then give us a call today and stay tuned for more details.
The first thing to talk about with the 2021 Ford Bronco is the incredible new look. The family resemblance to the first-generation Bronco built between 1966 and 1977 is unmistakable, though the ’21 Bronco kicks that boxy shape way, way up with features that grandpa could have only dreamed of. The four-door models, by the way, are the first four-door Broncos EVER, allowing the whole family to get in on the off-roading fun with more space for people and gear.
“We created the Bronco family to elevate every aspect of off-road adventure and equipped them with class-leading chassis hardware and exclusive technologies to raise the bar in the rugged 4×4 segment and take people further into the wild,” said Jim Farley, Ford chief operating officer. “They’re built with the toughness of an F-Series truck and performance spirit of Mustang – and come wrapped in one of the most stunning and functional off-road designs that’s true to the original Bronco design DNA.”
Both Bronco two-door and four-door models feature a hard-top roof and doors that are quickly removable for open-air tun. Two-doors feature a three-section roof, while four door models have four removable roof sections. All are lightweight and can be easily removed by one person. They stow safely inside. Don’t want to take the top all the way off by want more fresh air? The rear quarter windows are also quickly removable. Also available is a cloth soft-top that’s standard on four-door models. Can’t decide? The cloth and hardtop options can both be included on your four-door Bronco. Class-exclusive frameless doors make them easier to remove, less bulky to carry, and take up less room while being storred.
Out front is a futuristic grille and headlights that are both new and simultaneously familiar, with round LED headlights and a light-up grille script. Knowing that Bronco owners are likely going to do some off-road adventuring, the “trail sights” on the leading edge of the front fenders also can be used as strong tie-downs, each with a 150-pound capacity for securing rooftop items like kayaks and canoes.
So yeah, it looks incredible, but how does it perform? From the Ranger 4×4 to the Super Duty Tremor to the F-150 Raptor, Ford has been building a reputation for modern, world-class off-roaders over the past decade, and the 2021 Ford Bronco takes its place among them with a drivetrain that is built Ford Tough to take on any terrain.
“Bronco’s advanced four-wheel-drive technology is at the core of its off-road capabilities, and at the heart of it all is Bronco’s exclusive Terrain Management System™ with G.O.A.T. Modes™ that is designed to help drivers better navigate any type of terrain,” said Mark Grueber, Bronco consumer marketing manager.
Two 4×4 systems will be available on the Bronco: a base set-up and an “advanced” 4×4 drivetrain for those who want the most out of their drive off-road. The advanced system features a two-speed transfer case sending torque to a Dana 44 AdvanTEK solid rear axle and Dana AdvanTEK independent front differential unit. Inside, Performa-TraK™ electronic locking differentials by legendary off-road gear supplier Spicer provide improved traction over rough terrain. Giving that rugged hardware a high-tech assist are up to seven driver-selectable modes that optimize drivetrain systems to match the conditions, including Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand, Baja, Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl. In addition, an available segment-first Trail Toolbox gives Bronco owners access to exclusive Ford-first technologies, including Trail Control and the innovative Trail One-Pedal Drive acceleration/braking control, which takes some of the juggling out of slow rock-crawling.
Helping keep you sunny side up in the new Bronco is best-in-class 11.6-inch ground clearance, a maximum 29-degree breakover angle and 37.2-degree departure angle, plus best-in-class water-fording of up to 33.5 inches! Frame mounted tow-hooks let you help out lesser 4x4s stuck on the trail, while available heavy-duty modular steel bumpers feature an integrated Ford Performance winch mount. Protecting critical components is the most advanced system of skid plates and bash shields ever installed on a Ford from the factor, with the available front plate and shielding for the engine, transmission, transfer case and fuel tank. Heavy-duty full-length rock-rails keep your door sills looking shiny, no matter what the trail brings your way, and available 35-inch off-road tires give you that Tonka Toy look while helping Bronco claw its way out of anything.
“Bronco two- and four-door models leverage the company’s Built Ford Tough durability and performance testing and take it even further off-road with Built Wild Extreme Durability Testing in the harshest possible environments, including the brutal trails of the King of the Hammers off-road competition,” said Dave Pericak, director, Ford enterprise product line management, Icons.
Now we know you’re asking: Which engines does the 2021 Ford Bronco have? Ford brings it with the available 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, which is projected to produce 310 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, while the standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost is targeted to deliver best-in-class four-cylinder torque of 310 lb.-ft. with an expected 270 horsepower. Like throwing shifts? The Bronco has you covered with a segment-first 7-speed manual transmission, or you can let the machine do the work with the available SelectShift 10-speed automatic transmission, offering a maximum 67.8:1 crawl ratio with the available advanced 4×4 transfer case.
The all-new 2021 Ford Bronco will be built at the historic Michigan Assembly plant in Wayne, Michigan, with a starting price for the two-door at $29,995. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2021.

If you’re a fan of Ford Performance, the name “Mach 1” probably stirs some strong feelings within you. Debuted in the 1969 model year as a performance upgrade to the Mustang GT, the iconic 1969 Mustang Mach 1 became an instant icon of high-speed muscle. Once the 1970s were over, however, other than a brief return as a Mustang performance package in 2003-2004, it looked like the Mach 1 name had faded into the history books.
Ford is always full of surprises, and they recently dropped a big surprise in the laps of Mustang Performance fans: the news that the Mach 1 will be returning in the 2021 model year as a high-performance variant of America’s original pony car! With the 21st century muscle car wars in full swing, the high-performance 2021 Mustang Mach 1 is sure to set the hearts of a whole new generation of Ford fans aflutter.
“Mach 1 has always been that bridge between base Mustangs and the Shelby models,” said Ted Ryan, heritage brand manager, Ford Archives. “From a style and handling perspective, the original Mach 1 managed to stand out as unique, even in the Mustang lineup – and as the name implies, it could really move.”
Details on the new 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 are few right now but if the high-perf Mustangs of recent years have been any judge, it’s going to be a show-stopper, perhaps with a big rear-deck spoiler and bold, heritage-inspired “hockey stick” stripes like the original.
“Mach 1 has a special place in Mustang history, and it’s time for this special edition to claim the top spot in our 5.0-liter V8 performance lineup and reward our most hardcore Mustang enthusiasts who demand that next level of power, precision and collectability,” said Dave Pericak, director, Ford Icons. “Like the original, the all-new Mustang Mach 1 will be true to its heritage.”
One thing we do know is that it will be more affordable than Shelby Mustangs like the GT-350, GT-350R and GT-500. We also know that it will be powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.0 V8. Given that the same 5.0-liter powers the current Mustang GT to the tune of 460 horsepower, we’re hoping further engine tweaks in the Ford Skunkworks will boost the Mach 1’s horsepower numbers to 475 hp or above. Ford is also hinting there will also be a slew of race-ready suspension tweaks. A press-release from Ford promises the Mach 1 will be “the most track-ready 5.0-liter Mustang ever.” That’s music to our ears!

Ford develops COVID-fighting software for Ford Police Interceptor vehicles to help cops stay safe on the beat
While a lot of us are able to stay home and limit our interactions with others to stay safe during the COVID-19 epidemic, there’s a lot of folks for whom that just isn’t an option, including first responders like police. With suspects being loaded in and out of Ford Interceptor Utility SUVs — the police version of the Ford Explorer — all day, every day, there was a real risk that a cop’s four-wheeled partner could become a breeding ground for the deadly disease.
Now, through a software update, Ford engineers have found a way to help police officers sterilize the interior of their Ford-built police vehicles with no parts or hardware installation required. It’s a technology that could soon make its way to Ford cars, trucks and SUVs made for the civilian market.
Scientists know that viruses like COVID-19 are very vulnerable to heat. That’s the thinking behind the software update, available for all Ford Police Interceptor vehicles built since 2013. Once installed, the update utilizes the vehicle’s heater system to raise the temperature inside the vehicle beyond 133 degree Fahrenheit — hotter than the highest temperature ever recorded in Death Valley — for 15 minutes, then automatically cools the interior back down again through the cruiser’s air conditioning system.
Developed in a partnership between Ford and Ohio State University, the system effectively sanitizes the interior of the vehicle. Performed while there’s no one in the vehicle, the new virus-fighting heating process isn’t hot enough to harm plastics, fabric or internal systems, but is warm enough to kill most viruses, including COVID-19, which cannot survive extended high temperatures.
“First responders are on the front lines protecting all of us. They are exposed to the virus and are in dire need of protective measures,” said Hau Thai-Tang, Ford chief product development and purchasing officer. “We looked at what’s in our arsenal and how we could step up to help. In this case, we’ve turned the vehicle’s powertrain and heat control systems into a virus neutralizer.”
Once started, the self-cleaning process flashes the vehicle’s hazard lights and tail lights in a pre-set pattern to let officers know the system is heating up the interior of the vehicle. The lights flash again when decontamination and an interior-cool-down via the air conditioning system is completed. Researchers say that by filling the passenger compartment with superheated air, the process can reach hidden pockets of viruses that might be missed by chemical disinfectants or soaps. The automated process also helps reduce the possibility of human error while disinfecting.
Ford studies of the new technology, which were performed in cooperation with large metropolitan police departments across the country, including the LAPD and NYPD, show that the system can reduce viral concentrations inside a treated car by more than 99 percent, drastically reducing the risk to officers.
Innovation and quick thinking to solve problems like this for our nation’s first responders is one more reason why we’re proud to sell quality Ford vehicles at McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville.
