We’ve all heard those stories from our parents and grandparents about how in their day they had to walk five miles in the snow to get to school. While we can appreciate their hard work and determination, it’s not our fault Ford has developed technology to make not just our lives easier but our parents and grandparents’ lives as well. Drive yourself to McLarty Daniel Ford in Bentonville off South Walton Blvd, and we’ll show you what Ford’s SYNC technology can do for you.

Ford’s been in the auto business since the beginning of vehicles. People have gone from walking those five miles in the snow to driving those five miles. A lot has changed even in the last decade in terms of what our cars can do for us. Those stories of walking five miles in the snow have now been replaced with “When I was your age, we had to print out directions or use a map to navigate…” Now, If we want to drive from Gravette to Cave Springs or further to Farmington, all we do is plug in the address in our phone and we instantly get directions.

With smartphones now such an integral part of our daily lives, every other aspect of our lives had to adapt, including our vehicles. Now, our smartphones can seamlessly transition for use in our Ford Escape, Expedition or F-150. No more cassette tape adapters or CDs (what’s a CD?) required to listen to your favorite playlist. While we all love a good boy band, this is a different type of way to get in sync with your Ford.

Ford continues to up its game with not only safety advancements and redesigned interiors but also technology. Ford’s SYNC technology provides the ability to connect your phone using Bluetooth to make hands-free calls, get directions, play music and access apps by simply using your voice.

Currently, Ford offers SYNC 3, which requires some mobile devices to connect using a USB cord, and SYNC 4 for a completely wireless connection. SYNC 4 has some added benefits we’ll look at later. So what can SYNC do for drivers? Let’s find out.

Ford SYNC Can Do the Following:

Make Hands-Free Calls: Pair your phone, and download your contact list to make calls with the push of a button. You’ll hear your phone call through your speakers.

Get Directions on the Go: Just ask with the sound of your voice.

Voice-Activated App Control: Use the touchscreen or your voice to access Apple CarPlay or Android Auto to use features such as text messaging or to listen to music and podcasts.
