Since 1964, the Mustang nameplate has graced some of the highest-performance and most visually exciting vehicles Ford has ever produced. Ford recently announced the Mustang name and iconic “running pony” emblem will soon help open a new chapter in Ford’s century-long pursuit of innovation, with the all-electric 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E.
Heavily-inspired by the iconic 2020 Ford Mustang coupe, which will remain in production, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E is the perfect blend of electricity and exhilaration, driving the Ford brand into a more sustainable future while showing that future doesn’t have to be all boring design and weak-kneed performance.
“At the first-ever Detroit auto show, Henry Ford said he was working on something that would strike like forked lightning,” said Bill Ford, executive chairman, Ford Motor Company. “That was the Model T. Today, the Ford Motor Company is proud to unveil a car that strikes like forked lightning all over again. The all-new, all-electric Mustang Mach-E. It’s fast. It’s fun. It’s freedom. For a new generation of Mustang owners.”
Arriving at McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville later this years, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E is the first-ever expansion of the Mustang family, and packs performance that lives up to the iconic name. The all-electric crossover features a range of over 300 miles, with the Mach E GT model producing the equivalent of 459 horsepower and 612 lb.-ft. of torque, allowing the Mach E to rocket from zero to 60 in just 3.5 seconds thanks to surefooted available all-wheel drive.
Thanks to Ford innovation in battery and charging technology, the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E will feature one of the fastest and most efficient charging systems in the industry, adding 32 miles of range per hour of charging when using a 240-volt home charging outlet from Ford, utilizing the same plug used by an electric oven or dryer. Ford is even teaming up with Amazon Home’s network of electricians to make installation of the appropriate electrical connection cheaper and easier. On the go, Mustang Mach E owners can also take advantage of the FordPass Charging Network, the largest charging network in America, with over 12,500 charging stations nationwide.
The outside of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E is just as exciting as its performance side, with plenty of details borrowed from its two-door stablemate, like the triple taillights and character lines, hood and grille. Inside, the great looks continue, with features like a next-generation 15.5-inch touchscreen in the center dash with touch, swipe and pinch controls that will be entirely familiar to anyone who had ever used a smartphone, with seating for up to five adults, premium audio by Bang & Olufsen, and a Mustang-inspired double-cowl instrument cluster.

First introduced in 2005, the sporty Ford Escape spent years as one of Ford Motor Company’s top-selling vehicles before gas prices and changing tastes led to the nameplate being retired in 2012. We were understandably excited when Ford announced the Escape would be coming back for 2020, and intrigued when we heard that it would have not one, not two but FOUR exclusive powertrain options, including two hybrid powertrains for those buyers who want the ultimate in eco-friendly fuel economy.
If you’re looking to buy a 2020 Ford Escape in Bentonville, McLarty Daniel Ford can help you get there. But which of the four powertrain options should you choose? It all depends on what you want from your vehicle, but some information is in order. So read on for McLarty Daniel Ford’s handy guide to the four available powertrain choices available on the 2020 Ford Escape. And when you’re ready, stop in for a test drive, or check out our selection online right now!
POWERTRAIN #1: 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbo three-cylinder
While we’re all familiar with eight, six or four-cylinder engines, three-cylinder powerplants are still something of a rarity in the U.S., though Ford has employed small 1-liter three-cylinder engines in the Focus, Fiesta and EcoSport models in recent years. While you might think three is the magic number for lackluster performance, Ford’s use of modern turbocharging is squeezing big power from small packages these days, that that includes the 1.5-liter three-cylinder that comes standard in the 2020 Escape. How big? Try 180 horsepower and 177 lb.-ft. of torque, which handily tops the output of many four-cylinder competitors while delivering world-class fuel economy. We promise you won’t miss that extra cylinder.
POWERTRAIN #2: 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder
If you simply MUST have that one extra cylinder in your 2020 Ford Escape, Ford has an available solution: the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine. While two little liters may not seem like all that much, Ford again pulls a rabbit out of their hat with the 2.0-liter four, building on their success with getting a passel of power from smaller engines through cutting-edge turbocharging tech. As such, the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four available in the 2020 Ford Escape churns out a spirited 250 horsepower and 275 lb.-ft. of torque, besting what other makers are able to do with V6 engines while maintaining the fuel-sipping economy buyers demand. Now only does that deliver push-you-back-in-the-seat acceleration in the light and nimble 2020 Escape, you also get up to 3,500 pounds of towing grunt when properly equipped with the available Class II trailer tow package.
POWERTRAIN #3: Gas/Electric Hybrid
If you’re really serious about helping out the planet and getting us toward a more sustainable future, the 2020 Escape is your best friend, thanks to the available gas/electric hybrid powertrain that’s a real fuel miser. The heart of this thrifty powertrain option is an advanced 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder that operates on the efficient Atkinson cycle, backed by an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. More of a generator than an conventional car motor, the engine delivers power to a liquid-cooled, lithium ion battery pack about the size of a briefcase that is situated below the rear floor to save interior cargo and passenger room. That battery pack feeds juice to a pair of electric motor that drives the wheels, for the equivalent of almost 200 horsepower and gobs of torque.
POWERTRAIN #4: Plug-in Hybrid
For the ultimate in fuel economy, you have to start talking about plug-in hybrids, which utilize either at-home charging ports or commercial charging stations, and can operate solely on electric power with the gasoline engine completely turned off. The 2020 Escape features a plug-in hybrid version. Like the gas/electric hybrid version, the system is built around a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle inline four-cylinder, but it also features a Level 1/2 AC charging port, allowing you to charge the battery either at home or on the go (if there’s an available charging station nearby), and features a larger battery pack than the gas/electric Escape. The electric-only range of the 2020 Escape with the plug-in hybrid system is around 30 miles, with the system automatically switching to gas/electric power if the charge is depleted while you’re driving. According to Ford, a full recharge using a 110-volt Class 1 charger is 10 hours, while a 240-volt Class 2 charger is only 3.5 hours.
Ford is all about giving you options, and so are we here at McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville! Stop in today to check out the all-new 2020 Ford Escape, or shop our full selection online right now at our website.
With gas prices down and fuel economy up at Ford thanks to the Blue Oval’s commitment to squeezing big power from smaller, more efficient engines with modern turbocharging, sales of the Ford Expedition were through the roof in 2019, up 56 percent when compared to 2018. The result was the best eight-month start for the Expedition in over a decade.
Recognizing that customers are hungry for an Expedition with even more character, style and luxury, Ford recently announced they’re bringing one of the most storied names in history to the Expedition lineup for the first time, with the 2020 Ford Expedition King Ranch. and long-wheelbase 2020 Ford Expedition MAX King Ranch. Named after the iconic Texas Ranch, the 2020 Expedition King Ranch is the latest in a 20-year collaboration between Ford and the Lone Star Icon.
“The King Ranch name carries with it a legacy of hard work that defines the American ranching lifestyle, with the heritage and family traditions Ford Expedition represents,” said Andrew Kernahan, Expedition chief engineer. “It’s a great addition to the lineup, growing Expedition’s appeal and personality in Texas as well as with customers across the U.S. looking for western-inspired style and timeless design.”
The Expedition King Ranch originally debuted in 2005, and was the second Ford King Ranch model, following the Ford F-150 King Ranch in 1999. For 2020, the all-new Expedition King Ranch is all about luxury inside and out, with Stone Gray paint on the grille mesh, retractable running boards, rear bumper skid plate, roof rack, side mirror caps and more.
Body color upper bumpers and Stone Gray lower bumpers up the style, while 22-inch six-spoke painted machine finished aluminum wheels with dark tarnish-painted pockets put the power to the ground. Finishing out the look is the distinctive King Ranch badging, with the ranch’s iconic “Running W” brand appearing on the liftgate, wheel center caps and body molding.
Inside, the luxury continues with supple Del Rio leather on all three rows of seat, offset by Ebony Del Rio leather on the door trim and leather-wrapped steering wheel, with intricate stitching. The console gets real Ziricote wood veneer, while the King Ranch “Running W” brand is embossed on the seatbacks of all three rows.
They say everything is bigger in Texas, and that surely goes for the style and comfort of the 2020 Ford Expedition King Ranch. Are you ready for a ride fit for a King (or Queen)? Then stop in today McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville to order a new 2020 Expedition King Ranch today, or take a test drive in any of our luxurious 2020 Ford SUV models. We’ll be waiting for you, partner!

Officially America’s best-selling police vehicle, the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, a police-outfitted upgrade of the civilian 2020 Ford Explorer, began shipping for delivery in August, meaning it’s already on duty at departments all over the U.S., helping keep our streets safe. Now Ford is poised to help take a bite out of crime AND departments’ fuel costs, with the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Hybrid.
Packing a utility belt full of clever and useful police equipment, the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Hybrid also offers world-class fuel economy via a gas-electric powertrain that includes both a powerful gasoline engine and electric motors that allow it to run solely on stored electrical power.
The result is an EPA-estimated 23 miles per gallon in the city and 24 mpg combined fuel economy — a fuel economy improvement of 41 percent when compared to the gasoline-only 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Utility with a 2.7-liter gas engine. That improvement in fuel economy will save taxpayers between $3,500 to $5,700 per year for every 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Hybrid sold.
According to a press release from Ford, Law Enforcement Agencies in the United States have placed orders for over 15,000 gasoline powered 2020 Ford Police Inceptor models, and over 2,600 orders for the 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Hybrid. That includes an order for 39 2020 Ford Police Interceptor Hybrids placed by the Los Angeles Police Department, which hopes to eventually make their fleet all-hybrid for both cost and environmental reasons.
Lest you think a hybrid police vehicle can’t get the job done, testing completed by the Michigan State Police in 2018 showed that a prototype Ford Police Interceptor Utility Hybrid had the fastest 0-100 mph acceleration and highest top speed of any police vehicle they had tested other than the Ford Police Interceptor Utility powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine.
Ford estimates that if every Ford Police Interceptor Utility sold in 2018 had been one of the new hybrid models, American police agencies would have burned 43 million fewer gallons of fuel per year, which equates to an estimated savings of between $118 million and $193 million annually.
“Our Police Interceptor Utility’s standard hybrid powertrain provides the potential for significant fuel savings with improved performance and no tradeoffs in safety or cargo space,” said Stephen Tyler, Ford police brand marketing manager. “It’s a win-win-win formula for law enforcement.”
Helping America’s finest get the job done safely and more efficiently is all in a day’s work at Ford, where cutting edge engineering and design go hand-in-hand. Ready to see what Ford can do for you? Out on the trail, a few extra inches of ground clearance can be the difference between going home happy at the end of the day or waiting around for somebody with a winch to come along to pull you out. While buying a lift or leveling kit for your Ford truck used to mean rolling the dice with an aftermarket supplier and hoping they did their homework on engineering, materials and fitment, lifting and leveling your Blue Oval pickup just got easier, with the news that Ford Performance Parts now offer off-road leveling suspension kits for Ford Ranger and F-150.
A first-ever product from Ford Performance, Ford’s off-road leveling kits are factory engineered to bolt right up to existing mounting points without modification. The kits feature aluminum-body shocks by off-road provider FOX, exclusive Ford Performance tuning for perfect suspension geometry, a two-inch front lift, new front coilovers, model-specific upper front mounts with polyurethane bushings to quiet rattles and squeaks, and locking spring pre-load rings. The result is an off-roading home run, with more ground clearance and improved approach and breakover angles.
With the kit installed, a Ford Ranger 4×4 crew cab nets a 21 percent better approach angle and a 10 percent improvement in breakover angle. A 2019 Ford F-150 with the 145-inch wheelbase, meanwhile, gets a 22 percent increase in approach angle and 7 percent increase in breakover angle.
“Ford Performance Parts developed these kits to make the off-road experience even better for our Ranger and F-150 customers,” said Eric Cin, global director, Ford Vehicle Personalization and Accessories. “Truck customers are asking for options for increased capability and customization, and the new leveling suspension kits for Ranger and F-150 deliver on that need.”
Most Ford Ranger and F-150 models purchased in the U.S. are equipped with four-wheel drive, and these factory parts enable Ford owners to get more from their trucks in more varied terrain. Engineers with Ford Performance worked hand in hand with Fox Off-Road to develop the shocks included in the kit.
“The elevated off-road geometry, paired with Ford Performance tuning, makes this a really unique offering,” said Cin. “The secret sauce to this kit is in the Ford Performance tuning. This suspension and its tuning are designed to improve off-road handling and responsiveness, specifically for Ranger and F-150.”
The kits for both Ranger and F-150 will be available this fall through Ford Dealers, including McLarty Daniel Ford of Bentonville, and cost $1,495 before installation. The kits fit any four-wheel drive 2019 Range or any F-150 4×4 built between 2015-2019.

Central Arkansas has gone all-in on bicycling fun in recent years, and the crown jewel is the Arkansas River trail. Soon to be expanded to connect with locales as far-flung as Toad Suck Ferry near Conway, the original 16-mile River Trail is all paved for smooth riding on road bikes or mountain bikes, and connects Little Rock and North Little Rock. At each end, the River Trail crosses the Arkansas River by way of the Clinton Presidential Center Bridge in the east and the Big Dam Bridge in the West. The longest pedestrian bridge in the U.S. before the Big River Crossing was opened joining Memphis and West Memphis by way of a converted railroad bridge across the Mississippi, the Big Dam Bridge is worth the trip in itself, with soaring views of Pinnacle Mountain to the west and epic sunsets most any day of the year.

Star City
One of Arkansas’s least-appreciated State Parks — part of a system that includes many such unsung gems — Cane Creek State Park near Star City includes a true destination for bicyclists, in the form of the 15.5-mile Cane Creek Lake Trail. The trail system, which is also open to runners, walkers and hikers, is a true joy, skirting the wildlife-rich Cane Creek Lake and coming close to Bayou Bartholomew while continuing through ecosystems that include heavy forests, wetlands, and prairie and rolling hills. Along the way, the gravel trail crosses three pedestrian-only suspension bridges secluded deep in the woods, for an almost fairy-tale experience that makes you feel miles from anyone. The park also features birding tours, kayaking, guided walking tours, picnic sites, pavillions, a boat launch and fishing pier and 29 campsites so you can do more than biking.
SLAUGHTER PEN TRAILS
Bentonville
Northwest Arkansas has long been a hotspot for soaking in the great outdoors, and the area has really thrown open the doors to hardcore and bunny-slope-level mountainbikers in recent years as well. “The 7.3-liter is designed for maximum durability in the harshest environments given that our customers live and work in these conditions every day,” said Joel Beltramo, Ford manager for gas V8 engines. “This engine has the largest displacement in its class and is designed to provide benefits in key areas like power, durability, ease of maintenance and total operating costs.”

For fans of Ford performance, few words in the English language can get their blood pumping like “Shelby.” Since 1966, the name bestowed on Ford Mustangs by race car builder, racer and innovator Carroll Shelby has meant driving excitement and no-compromises high performance. Now, Ford is adding another great name to that long go-fast legacy with the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R. A race-ready variant of the incredible Mustang Shelby GT350, the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R is sure to have Ford fans raring to go.
Many of the enhancements and upgrades to the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R are thanks to the development of Ford’s incredible 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500, the 700-horsepower-plus supercar unveiled earlier this year. Where the GT500 gets the job done through brute force, the GT350R is a more subtle road-racing machine, built around upgraded suspension geometry for quicker steering and tighter handling through the corners. Ford Performance worked their magic on the front and rear suspension of the GT350R, adding a high-trail steering knuckle, an all-new steering rack and recalibrated electric power steering controller.
“It’s always been our plan to take the latest innovations from the GT500 program and strategically apply them across the Mustang lineup,” said Ed Krenz, Ford Performance chief program engineer. “These latest updates to the GT350R keep its performance competitive and on the top if its game, whether that’s on the track or on the street.”
Shaving weight off a race car is always a good idea, and Ford put the GT350R on a serious diet, deleting the rear seat, adding super lightweight carbon-fiber wheels, and nixing the factory exhaust resonators. Downforce and aerodynamics are helped by a larger front splitter and a large rear wing. Exterior touches include red brake calipers, red pin-striping along the edge of the bold rally stripes, Shelby GT350R badges and a leather interior with high-contrast red stitching. Customers can also order their GT350R with a 12 speaker sound system by B&O, voice activated navigation and more.
